SSI Equipment Techniques
Your Total Diving System (dive kit) is like a buddy underwater who you need to be able to rely on at any time. You will learn about equipment selection best suited for you, care and maintenance of your equipment and how to properly store it to ensure performance and it's extended lifetime.
This can be a land based course so is ideal for the winter months.
The course covers three elements; academics, practical and optional open water dives. The academics are completed online using the SSI Online training materials so you can learn at a time convenient to you and at your pace. We then review the academics with you in the Dive Centre. During the practical sessions will learn key skills for selecting and caring for the right equipment for you before progressing to your open water dives.

How we teach the Equipment Techniques
This course is usually taught by Steve who is an experienced Servicing Technican as well as an SSI Instructor. We will look at how Equipment has developed to date and consider how it might develop in the future. We will look at each of the components of the Total Diving System and review how to ensure correct and comfortable fitting, user maintenance activities and servicing aspects. This is very much a Hands-on course and opportunities will be taken to disassemble different items so that you can understand how they work and enhance your own diagnostic skills.
