SSI Waves, Tides and Currents Speciality
Water motion can have a tremendous effect on your enjoyment during your diving. Adequate training is critical to handling the various water motion conditions you may encounter. Drift Diving is a popular activity at a number of locations world wide. So on this course you will learn to interact with waves when entering from shore, how to act in a rip current and other water conditions and how to harness the power of the water movement so you can glide effortlessly along.
The course covers three elements; academics, pool and open water dives. The academics are completed online using the SSI Online training materials so you can learn at a time convenient to you and at your pace. We then review the academics with you in the Dive Centre. In the pool you will will learn key skills for the course before progressing to your open water dives
Waves, Tides and Currents with Mulberry Divers
We have some excellent Drift Diving off Selsey and some Tides and Currents that are influenced by the Solent - we will ensure you know how to predict currents, understand the difference between Spring and Neap Tides and the implications for Divers - all firmly on real-life local examples. You will then be asked to plan your dives before going out on our RHIB, Mulberry Diver.
